With the exception of serious emergencies, it is expected that you keep all of your appointments. If you need to reschedule an appointment we require 24 hours notice. In such a case, please call our office and arrange for a make-up appointment with one of our patient care coordinators. If you are a no-show for your consultation, you will be charged a consultation fee for your next appointment. We reserve the right to not schedule any further appointments for patients with multiple no shows or cancellations.
Cosmetic Surgery Consult
Only the INITIAL cosmetic consultation is complimentary. Subsequent cosmetic consultations will be charged a $50 fee. Also, any consultation for cosmetic surgery revision (a cosmetic procedure that was previously done by another surgeon, physician or provider) will be charged a fee of $200. This fee will be applied to any procedures or surgeries you decide to go forward with. Cosmetic surgery includes surgical and nonsurgical procedures that reshape normal structures of the body in order to improve appearance and self-esteem. Because cosmetic surgery is elective, it is not covered by health insurance. However, if your "Cosmetic" need turns into a "Reconstructive" or "Medical" need, your consultation will be treated as a Reconstructive or Medical Consultation and will follow the rules and regulations of your insurance plan.
Reconstructive Surgery or Medical Consult
All reconstructive or medical consults are billed through your health insurance. If you do not have health insurance, you will be charged $200 for the reconstructive and medical consultation. Patients are responsible for any copays, coinsurance, and deductibles associated with their plans. A referral may also be needed from your primary physician to see Dr. Thao for your reconstructive need. It is the patient's responsibility to check his or her insurance plan regarding any copayments and referral needs.
We accept most major insurance plans at our practice. Please call the office to speak with one of our knowledgeable staff members about your individual coverage.
All co-payments, deductibles, and coinsurance are due at the time of service or prior to service. Estimated insurance prepayments are due in-full 2 weeks in advance of all surgical procedures.
We accept cash, check, and Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards.
