Good candidates for nose surgery also known as rhinoplasty are:
- Men and women who are healthy and have realistic expectations
- Men and women who believe their nose does not go well with the overall facial features.
- Men and women who feel that their nose is cosmetically unattractive.
- Men and women with impaired breathing caused by structural abnormalities in the nose
Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the overall size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow or widen the nostrils and even improve the angle between the nose and the upper lip. The final result of nose surgery will give you a more attractive nose in better proportion to your facial features and better breathing for those with a nose structural defect.
Surgery of the nose is so popular, more than a half million men and women have it done every year.
Your Nose Surgery
The technique used for your surgery depends upon the results you desire. Dr. Thao will work with you to help you discover your possibilities. The procedure is done on an out patient basis under local or general anesthesia and usually takes between 1 and 4 hours. After your procedure is completed, a splint, internal tubes or packing will likely be placed inside your nose and a splint or bandages placed on the outside to support and protect the new structures during initial healing. The swelling will take a few months to go away but you will start seeing result after a couple months. It may take up to a year or more for the final result to show in your nose surgery.
